The Sport Club Sakura Bucharest has been established in 1990. The Club has been registered as legal entity in 1995. The Sport Identity Certificate has been provided by the Ministry of Youth and Spots in 2002.
During those 15 years of activity, there were practicing about 1,000 athletes from which 100 have passed the black level belt- sho dan.
Starting with 1996, the best athletes represent the Olimpia Sport Club Bucharest to the National and International Championships
